Red Dead Redemption 2 is at present enjoyed by only the Xbox One and Playstation 4 owners. However, that might change soon if game’s official companion app are to be believed on. According to a report , the Red Dead Redemption 2 companion app comes with file name that hints towards the PC version of the game. The Intel from Rockstar mentioned that file is names “PARAM_companionAutoConnectIpPC” and “CommandIsPcVersion(void)    000000000166A12C” includes the term PC. Yet another file talks about the feature that is running in Grand Theft Auto V on PC.

Take with a pinch of salt

We know that it is too early to jump the gun and declare that PC version would be coming. Also, PC version in the companion app is at time used for other purposes such as app for desktop computers. There are fair chances that the word PC in the companion app would only mean a PC version of the companion app rather than full title.

Why are we more adamant that you should take the news with a pinch of salt because this is not the first time? Earlier also there were rumors that Red dead Redemption 2 PC release is imminent. Just before the launch week of the title on PS4 and Xbox One, a Dutch Website Techstatic came across a Red Dead Redemption 2 PC listing on Media Markt’s Swedish Website.

The release date was also marked as on December 31, 2019. Then, there was a Rockstar Games developer whose Linked In profile talked about the work done on the game for PC version which is already live on PS4 and Xbox One. Rockstar games did not reveal much at that time but then GTA IV and GTA V were released for PC apart from being available for consoles.

VR support too?

It’s not just the PC version that the companion App files are referring to. There is also some hint of the virtual Reality support version of the game within the files. There are certain codes in the file that hint to the Oculus graphic options apart from the lines that talk or hint about the PC version of the game.

Rockstar talked about no PC version of the Red Dead Redemption on the PC back in 2011 stating that,  “We do know that, yes, there is just one title absent from our PC release plans — that game, of course, being Red Dead Redemption, and of course we’re well aware that some fans have been asking for it.
