Xiaomi True Wireless Earbuds appear on FCC listings, Launch could around the corner
Xiaomi has joined the race of launching wireless earbuds as it preps to roll out AirDots. It was Apple who rolled out wireless earbuds for the first time which surely has been a groundbreaking product.
Amidst all the criticism and trolling for its new product, the Cupertino, California based company saw the technology being adopted by some of the biggest brands such as Samsung, Honor, Jabra, Huawei and so on.
Similar to Apple?
According to the FCC listing, Xiaomi would take the cue in terms of design from Apple. Earlier there were rumors that AirDots would be different in terms of design compared to the AirPods
While AirDots differ from the AirPods in terms of design, a new FCC listing suggests the Chinese smartphone maker is set to borrow Apple’s design. Xiaomi is reportedly developing a new pair of EarBuds that look identical to Apple AirPods in terms of design.
Xioami accepts the similarity
While FCC has already certified the wireless earbuds known as AirDots by Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone maker has stated that even though they have taken the inspiration from AirPods, they have not forgotten to insert some unique features to the device.
Going by the FCC listings, Xiaomi Airdots would also come with silicone ear tips that could be game-changing as Apple is not offering something similar. Compared to AirPods xiaomi AirDots would be more comfortable.
FCC listings have more interesting features to tell about the Xiaomi AirDots wherein the ear tips can be segregated into three different size options.
Then there is also an image shown in the listing displaying the charging case consisting of a multi-function button on the side. The USB Type –C port below would be used to charge both case and earbuds.
Bluetooth Support & Touch Controls
The Mi AirDots would support Bluetooth along with touch controls that are placed on the buds. On a single charge, these buds can perform up to three hours on a single charge and charging case would offer another 10 hours of listening feature.
Most of us know Xiaomi as a company primarily offering smartphones and tablets. However, the Chinese smartphone maker has a very impressive list of other consumer electronics and has a strong foothold. With the Xiaomi AirDots in-Ear Headphones Pro 2, the company is looking to maintain the same quality. Moreover, the price of the new earphones is surprisingly budget friendly at just $25.
Further, Bluetooth 5.0 support means that the in-ear AirDrops would not feed much on energy, not ignoring the connection. In China, those interested in the new pair of wireless Earphones can get it reserved. However, Xiaomi has not yet announced any release date.
Easy to accept and reject the calls
Mi True Wireless Earphones would let the users accept and reject calls. Further, the earphones would come with LED lights and active noise cancellation feature. Just a couple of weeks back, Xiaomi launched Mi AirDots Youth Edition in China for CNY 199.
Xiaomi has further stated that AirDots would offer a complete and high-quality wireless headsets experience compared to any other device across the markets. However, Xiaomi has not updated anything about the availability of the wireless earphone in any other country.
Xiaomi has already ventured in Ireland and would go ahead with its launch in the United Kingdom as well. There are also chances that AirDots become one of the original selling products in both countries.
Then, the company is all set to hold an event in the United States which again hints on its rapid expansion plans. Although there is no news on the launch it can very well be. Xiaomi has shipped a total of 34.3 million units of a smartphone in the third quarter of 2018 which translates into 21.2% YoY growth.
Major markets for Xiaomi are India, Indonesia, and China. Now, the company is looking to expand in European markets such as Spain which could open major doors for the company.
Xiaomi has tasted success with devices like 5A, Redmi 5 Plus and Redmi Note 5 as the brands are offering some tough competition to the peers. Further, there are latest Redmi 6/A/Pro successors who are already making a mark globally.
Xiaomi has achieved an annual target of 100 million in terms of sales two months ahead of the target which is not a small feat.
Other Brands also launch Apple like a wireless device
There are several other brands that also launched Apple like wireless device with Samsung rolling out Gear Icon X whereas Oppo came up with O-Free earphones. Samsung Gear X comes with the standalone music playback and 4GB of built-in storage through which the users would listen to their favorite tracks without connecting with the phone.
This is an exciting feature because you get the option of loading the music either wirelessly, from phone or PC with the help of a USB cable. Once the music is uploaded, the music can be played with the touch-based gestures that would perform the functions like play, pause and skip. Additionally, it also offers the option of browsing through the list of songs.
Oppo-O free, Play music for up to four hours
Oppo launched Oppo-O Free which again is a wireless earphone packed with Qualcomm’s QCC3026 chipset. The capacity of the earphones is to play music for up to four hours. Further, the case provides more power for another 12 hours to the earbuds.
One of the most interesting features of the wireless earphone is the O-Free support of voice translation, similar to Google Pixel Buds. Further, Oppo –O also supports the voice assistant and music controls.
